Online Catalogue | Cotoneaster Franchetii Hedging
Cotoneaster Franchetti (pronouced Coat - own - e - aster) is one of a broad species with many unusual cultivars - the franchetii cultivar is particularly well suited to hedging because it grown in an upright habit and is self supporting. The leaves are medium sized, and dark sage green in colour and the flowers are like pale pink pearls. In a sunny spot it will flower like mad and then produce profuse red berries - but it will also do well in shade (with a bit less flower and berries). It's a fast grower so it meets the objectives of many of our customers who want a fast growing evergreen with a bit of interest and wildlife value. A final bonus is that its relatively rabbit resistant (but we're not promising!). Whilst it is an evergreen, it can lose some of it's leaves in autumn/winter and take on autumn colour tints. We have Cotoneaster franchetii in pots all year round and we have fantastic value tall Cotoneaster franchetii as a bare root plant in winter.Don't forget to order RootGrow and/or Bonemeal.New range of beautiful topiary now available.
