Golden Leylandii (Cupressocyparis leylandii Castlewellan Gold)

Golden Leylandii is our most popular golden foliage evergreen hedging species. It has dense foliage and can easily be kept as a neat 2m hedge (but not much lower than that) providing you trim it thoroughly once a year - or it can form a much taller hedge (anything up to 10m) but it does need to be trimmed yearly (because you can't cut off more than one year's growth without leaving brown patches). It's very fast growing when young, but matures to a slower growth rate than the green version.

Conifers like this are really good in urban settings for reducing noise levels and provide a completely dense screen all year round.
