Viburnum tinus is a lovely winter flowering hedge species. It has dark green glossy leaves and very pretty clusters of tiny pink buds which open as white flowers - the clusters can be up to 4" (10cm) so it makes a good show - and then the flowers are followed by dark blue fruits - again quite showy at a time when there's little else to look at in the garden.
Viburnum is a quite slow growing hedge plant so it's easy to maintain and can be left as informal mounds or trimmed to shape from time to time (not even every year). It's good in damp (but not wet/waterlogged) shade, and good at the coast.
We have our own pot grown Viburnum plants, available to buy all year round.
Don't forget to order RootGrow and/or Bonemeal.
New range of beautiful topiary now available.
