Online Catalogue | Lavender - Lavender Hidcote Hedging (Lavandula angustifolia Hidcote)
Click here for a chart of species characteristics to help you chooseThis is a gorgeous variety of Lavender which is more compact than the normal English Lavender (grows to about 80cm instead of 100cm) and has darker purpleish flower spikes. It is in all other attributes the same as English Lavender but you need to plant 4 per metre for a series of hillocks or 5 per metre for a solid hedge (which is slightly denser planting than English Lavender).Although we refer to our other variety as English Lavender, this variety is also english - but we have to differentiate between the two. It is named after the beautiful National Trust garden called Hidcote in the Cotswolds - the first properly owned by the National Trust for the garden rather than the house (well worth a visit!).Don't forget to order RootGrow and/or Bonemeal.New range of beautiful topiary now available.
