Bird Cherry hedge plants

Prunus padus hedging

From £0.99

Prunus padus, or Bird Cherry as it is commonly known, is a popular addition to a mixed native hedge. However, Bird Cherry hedge plants are also great for a stand-alone hedge or when grown as a hedgerow tree. Prunus padus boasts racemes of almond-scented flowers in spring, followed by black cherries in autumn. The bitter fruits are a favourite with birds who will strip them from the branches in no time!

Bird Cherry hedge (Prunus padus) description

Best uses for Bird Cherry hedging

Prunus padus provides a splash of colour in autumn and spring so it’s ideal for adding seasonal interest to a native hedgerow.
