Dog Rose hedge plants, also known as Wild Briar or Wild Rose, are a fast growing species with a rambling habit. This hedging rose offers blushed pink flowers that fade to white and exude a pleasant fragrance. After flowering, Dog rose produces large hips in orange and red, and are a popular treat for wildlife such as birds which enjoy the seeds.

Dog Rose hedge (Rosa canina) description

Ideal for coastal or inland sites Rosa canina will grow in almost any soil. The red and orange fruits are tasty for birds whilst the spikey dense cover makes a good retreat for wildlife. Dog Rose is a rambling shrub, it will create a bushy hedge but it most commonly is combined with other shrubs to produce an intruder proof barrier and add summer flower interest.
