A Golden Privet hedge provides shelter from winds and reduces noise pollution. Ligustrum ovalifolium 'Aureum' makes a great screening plant and is ideal for both formal and informal gardens, landscape hedging and also works well when planted in beds and borders.

Growth rate of a Golden Privet hedge

Golden Privet hedges have an average growth rate and will achieve approximately 20-40cm each year. Ligustrum ovalifolium 'Aureum' is at its best when maintained at a height between 1m - 4m.

Care advice for Ligustrum ovalifolium 'Aureum' hedges

Please be aware that Golden Privet hedging can defoliate when transplanted. Bare Roots will defoliate more so, but you may still experience this problem with Root Balls and Pot Grown plants. Ligustrum ovalifolium 'Aureum' does however recover well in the spring. Golden Privet plants require watering in well during the first winter if the weather is dry and they also require a light trim whilst still growing.
