Order in your required length (multiples of 1 metre) e.g. order '5' and we'll supply you with 5 metres of irrigation hose, 5 x pegs, 1 x stopper, 1 x hose connector.

Why use an irrigation system?

  • Ideal water distribution
  • Easy to install
  • Saves time, effort and money compared to hand watering

This clever bit of kit will ensure that your new hedge gets the perfect amount of water. Simply lay your leaky hose, which is made from recycled porous material, along the base of your hedge pegging 1 per metre securely along the whole length. You can lay your hose just up to 6 inches below the surface of the soil to disguise it or beneath mulch matting. Block the end of the pipe (furthest away from your tap) with the stopper provided, and use the hose connector to connect your garden hose.

Pop the tap on and your hedge will get the perfect distribution of water with the least effort.

Note: Some items may have a slightly different appearance but will achieve the same result.

Pot grown and cell grown plants are available year round and make a great option when planting a hedge. Pots come in various sizes, as do the plants grown in them, and can be planted when convenient for you. These plants will be happy in their pots, given enough water, until you’re ready to plant. Cell Grown plants are usually small, 10-30cm and a great step between Pots and Bare Roots.

Bare root hedging plants are extremely popular. They are delivered and should be planted during the dormant season (usually November to April) and can be pre ordered from mid-summer. We recommend pre-ordering where possible to reserve your plants but take new orders right the way through the season. Bare roots are a cost effective way of planting a new hedge.

Root balls are generally available from October through to April/May, though some species are available year round. The plants are field grown and then lifted with a ‘ball’ of soil around the roots that is secured with hessian and sometimes wire. Root balls are often very impressive plants that can be pre ordered from mid-summer.

Instant hedging provides immediate impact to any project. These hedge units are grown in troughs or strong bags where they are shaped and pruned over many years to create a hedging panel that is already knitted together, producing an impressive instant hedge. Instant hedging is available to plant year round.

Planted according to instructions, however it has ben rendered useless as whenever I try to use it, it leaks at one end so bad that we have a flood whilst the other end remains pretty well dry. I even tried shortening it by a metre - same result. Wouldn't buy again.

On 08-Sep-2016 the supplier responded:
Thanks for taking the time to provide you feedback and, whilst I'm please to hear that you were pleased with the plants and communication you received, I'm sorry that you are having problems with your leaky hose. I've arranged for a couple of extra end-caps to be sent out to see if this helps.

Hopefully this will solve your problem, though if not please do get in touch and we can replace the hose for you.

On 25-Jul-2016 the supplier responded:
Service rating :Thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback, it really does help in assessing areas where we can improve. Although I have not been in the office over the past week I can see that this has not been resolved and the missing plants sent to you.

From the notes on our system it looks as though there was a stock issue with the Choisya and thy wanted to get everything else out to you as soon as possible, with the Choisya to follow; obviously you should have been informed of this though.

With regard to the dry pots, we saturate the plants the day before they are due to be sent as not to diminish the structural integrity of the pallet. Upon first glace the pots might be dry at the surface but an inch underneath they will have been moist enough to support the plants for their journey.

If there is anything else at all with which we can help please do not hesitate to contact us again.
