Planting Density refers to the density or number of plants required to create a hedge. You'll see that we've recommended a planting density scale (e.g. 3-5) for each plant; choose the lower number if you're patient or on a budget, and the higher number if you're looking for a quick effect. Generally, we recommend planting bare roots and small pot grown plants in a double staggered row (or zigzag row) and all others in a single row. Our suggested density is calculated per metre and though we do try to be as accurate as possible these numbers should only be used as a guide.
