The compact laurel 'Otto Luyken' is ideal for low growing. The evergreen foliage makes a dark foil for the upright racemes of small white flowers in the spring. Soon after flowering, the small red berries will begin to appear, these develop into shiny black cherry-like fruits that are popular with the birds in autumn.
