Westland Decorative Mini Bark (50L) Description

Westland’s Decorative Mini Bark is certified in accordance with the rules of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). The bark is made from sustainable conifer plantations that are grown for the timber industry. They’re size and material is the perfect design to retain moisture in your soil and creative a protective layer from harsh weather conditions and weeds. You won’t need to worry about your soil freezing over in the cold or drying out in the heat, the mini bark chips will protect your plant's roots and maintain good soil quality and healthy plant growth.

Directions for Use:

Start by removing any weeds and debris in the area you will be adding your mini bark to.

Beds & Borders:

• Lay a fabric membrane under the bark
• Cut an x-shapes hole in the membrane and place your plant into the planting hole under the membrane.
• Spread the bark chips under the plant canopy to hide the membrane
• Evenly spread a layer of bark 2.5cm – 5cm deep over the bed or border

Pots & Containers:

• Leave a 5cm – 7cm space at the top of each container
• Spread a layer of bark 3cm-5cm over the top of your compost or soil.

Check that the compost underneath is still fresh and moist at least once a year and remove weeds (if any) as they appear. Once the soil has been replenished, top up the bark.
