Griselinia littoralis hedging (New Zealand Privet) description

Griselinia littoralis hedge plants have lovely, soft, green foliage which is oval-shaped and glossy. Due to its evergreen nature, Griselinia hedging offers year-round privacy screening, whilst providing shelter from noise pollution and winds. This is an ideal choice for seaside locations, as the hardy foliage can tolerate harsh weather conditions.

Best uses for Griselinia hedge plants

Griselinia littoralis is perfect for formal hedging as it can be clipped into a fairly compact, neat shape. Griselinia hedge plants are suited to coastal sites, adding to the popularity of this species. New Zealand Privet can handle most UK climates, apart from those that experience extremely cold temperatures; Oleaster would be a better choice in these conditions.
