A dense evergreen shrub, Elaeagnus × ebbingei 'Gilt Edge' foliage boasts irregular golden margins, surrounding dark green centres. The broad, ovate leaves of Elaeagnus × ebbingei 'Gilt Edge' are accompanied in autumn by fragrant, white flowers which are occasionally followed by orange berries in winter. Although neither the flowers nor berries are particularly significant. Ideal for seaside locations, Oleaster 'Gilt Edge' will withstand cold sea winds as well as dry soils. Elaeagnus × ebbingei 'Gilt Edge' makes a fantastic unusual formal hedge or informal garden border.
