Care advice for Red Dogwood hedges
All Dogwoods benefits from a 'less is more' approach when it comes to pruning and Cornus alba is no exception. It does not need trimming in its first year. After that, it should be cut right back to approximately 4 inches from the ground. By pruning in February/March, before the buds appear, it encourages more vibrant coloured shoots. Please view the best4hedging care instructions in our Advice section.
