Darwins Barberry / Berberis hedge (Berberis darwinii) description

Darwin's Barberry is a real box ticker when it comes to your garden needs, it is easy to grow even in harsh conditions, produces beautiful nodding orange flowers on pink stems which contrast beautifully against the dark green foliage and then boasts rusty-red autumn colour, even though it's evergreen! The flowers of Berberis darwinii turn to blue berries in the autumn which are popular with wildlife and often eaten by birds.
